An iconic Easter Ross suspension foot bridge has been reopened following its closure due to “essential” repairs. The Alexandra Bridge, which crosses the mouth of the River Tain at the Links in Tain, had been closed for almost two months after damage to its timber decking was discovered. Alexandra Bridge in Tain has been reopened after repairs to its decking. Concern had been raised on social media after photos emerged of missing planks and gaps in the bridge decking. A spokesperson for Highland Council said: “Highland Council is pleased to announce that Alexandra Bridge in Tain has now reopened following the completion of essential repair works.
