Combined Authority backs global trade pushThe York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority has approved a £1 million budget to expand the region’s presence on national and global stages over the next three years. Officials say the funding will support proactive initiatives, including attendance at major investment events and hosting investor forums, aimed at attracting inward investment and strengthening trade ties. David Skaith, mayor of York and North Yorkshire, said: “York and North Yorkshire is already firmly on the world map and this new funding will allow us to showcase the businesses and innovation that call York and North Yorkshire home. “We know our region is a fantastic place to live, learn, work and invest. Collaboration will remain central, with the Combined Authority working alongside the City of York Council, North Yorkshire Council, local universities and industry partners to drive regional economic growth and ensure the area can compete effectively with other UK regions.
