Donald Trump's second term has been met with a sustained, low-level campaign of domestic terrorism. I thought Trump's second election would be met with rioting in the streets and serious threats against cabinet officials. Instead, we got the "vibe shift," with the initial political reaction against Trump relatively muted compared to that in 2016. This wasn't terrorism on the level of ISIS — not even close — but it clearly met the textbook definition of terrorism as violence in furtherance of a political or social objective. There have been riots outside ICE facilities, as well as incendiary attacks and shootings.
