An editor who was signed off with work-related stress earlier this year has resigned after 23 years at a Newsquest-owned title. Candia McKormack took over as editor of Cotswold Life magazine from the late Mike Lowe in 2020 but was signed off work by her GP in May. “I’m going to hugely miss Cotswold Life; it’s a wonderful magazine that has been much loved and trusted by people in the area (and beyond!) “I don’t currently have another job to go to and am taking a short break from the world of publishing.”Candia began working at Cotswold Life in 2002 as a designer, before going on to become Mike’s assistant editor, then deputy. She amplified her reasons for leaving in a post on LinkedIn, referencing the growing use of AI-generated content in editorial.
