A new trainee reporting scheme has been launched combining NCTJ online training with on-the-job experience on a daily title. The Jersey Evening Post has partnered with the NTCJ to launch the scheme which will see two trainee journalsts working towards the Diploma in Journalism qualification. The partnership collaboration is designed to allow aspiring journalists to develop their skills locally while remaining in their community. First recruits to the scheme are JEP trainees Daisy Morel and Gemma Jones who will be based in the paper’s newsroom in St Helier while studying online. “We’re looking forward to seeing how Gemma and Daisy progress with their training and the stories they tell.”
