The Taste of Sligo Food Festival will be returning from 19 to 21 September, after a successful first year. The festival is the inspiration of Anthony Gray and aims to bring top chefs and food producers to Queen Maeve Square, in the heart of Sligo Town. “The Taste of Sligo Food Festival highlights the rich food culture and incredible food tourism experience in Sligo,” said Gray, of Eala Bhán and Hooked restaurants, the Taste of Sligo food tours, and the Sligo Food Trail, of which he is a founding member. New this year is the Cool Food School, with cookery workshops for fifth- and sixth-class students. The Taste of Sligo Food Festival is supported by Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s Rural Innovation and Development Fund (RIDF), Sligo BID, the Sligo Food Trail, Visit Sligo, Sligo County Council, Fáilte Ireland, the Wild Atlantic Way and the Sligo Chamber of Commerce, Whiteside’s SuperValu, Expert Electrical, and Hawk’s Rock Distillery.
