CBRE, the commercial property services firm, has confirmed the launch of the sale of the International Hotel Killarney, with a guide price in the region of €18-20 million. CBRE noted that the sale is an exceptionally rare opportunity, as it has been almost a decade since a major Killarney hotel was last brought to the open market – and that one was a NAMA-driven disposal. By contrast, the International Hotel has not changed hands since 1976, when it was acquired by the Coyne family. “The International combines scale, prime location and trading strength, in a destination where hotel sales of this calibre are exceptionally scarce,” Paul Collins, head of CBRE Hotels Ireland. “For 50 years, we have considered ourselves caretakers of this magnificent hotel,” said Tracy Coyne, managing director of the International Hotel.
