A Fairfax woman died after she was struck by a vehicle in downtown San Rafael, authorities said. Patricia Oji, 73, was using a crosswalk at about 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at the intersection of E Street and Third Street, according to San Rafael police Lt. Scott Eberle. San Rafael Fire Department paramedics took Oji to MarinHealth Medical Center, and she died at the hospital. Oji was a prolific visual artist who kept a studio at Art Works Downtown on Fourth Street in San Rafael. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Fresno, and undertook graduate studies in graphic design at California State University, Chico, according to her website at patriciaoji.com.
