A section of the road will be closed overnight between Monday, November 3 and Friday, November 14, from 6pm to 1am each evening, while resurfacing and surface dressing works are carried out. The closure will run from the junction with Dunmail Drive to the junction with Cummersdale Road. The works are expected to last up to 12 days. An official diversion route will be in place, taking traffic via unrestricted sections of the B5299, Shaddongate, Bridge Street, Church Street, the A595 Wigton Road and the A689 Carlisle Southern Link Road. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and to follow signed alternative routes.
