According to the Sheriff’s Office, a veterinarian accompanied deputies during the operation and immediately assessed the animals on-site.
In total, 42 dogs were seized, including Newfoundlands and Australian Shepherds ranging in age from puppies to adults.
All of the seized dogs remain under the care of the Sheriff’s Office while the investigation continues.
Reports will be forwarded to the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether charges will be filed.
The Sheriff’s Office explained that consistent feeding is essential to the dogs’ recovery, and donations will go directly toward veterinary care and treatment.
