FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CNN, KYMA) - The man accused of attempting to kill President Donald Trump last year on a Florida golf course has been convicted. 59-year-old Ryan Routh was found guilty Tuesday on all five federal charges, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate. During the jury's reading of the verdict, Routh appeared to try and stab himself with a pen in the neck. Prosecutors said Routh was stalking trump at the president's golf club, but never fired a shot while Routh claimed an assassination was "never going to happen" and therefore, no intent. President Trump spoke about the verdict, saying he's very grateful for the team who was involved, and said he believes justice was served.
