Receiving the items on behalf of the affected families was Tuai Rumah Austin Ikau. Recounting the incident, the longhouse chieftain said he woke up around 3.30am to shouts that a fire had broken out. He added the total number of displaced residents was 81, an increase of six from the initial figure provided by the Fire and Rescue Department. “He was sent to the Song Health Clinic before being referred to Kapit Hospital for further treatment,” he added.
