"It's a competitive environment when it comes to aluminium manufacturing and export around the world, for a couple of reasons: firstly, uncertainty in relation to trade and tariffs from North America; secondly, China is the biggest player, and while those [US] tariffs don't directly affect Australia or Australia's access to US markets, we've got markets that the Chinese might dump into," he said.
