Sunset Bay State Park near Coos Bay will host two engaging “Sensational Seaweed” programs on August 5 and August 19, 2025, both beginning at 2:30 PM. On Friday, August 1st at 7:00 PM, local historian Richard Whitwer will present the story of the Coquille River Lighthouse. The Coquille River Lighthouse Keepers Foundation is inviting the public to a special fundraising event on Saturday, August 9, aimed at raising support for critical repairs to the historic Coquille River Lighthouse.
