Plans for a new 52-room hotel with two restaurants and a rebuilt pier are in the works for Commercial Street along Provincetown's waterfront. The Boston Business Journal reported that the new development project, called The Pier Hotel, would operate year-round along the Cape Cod town's main street. The development work also includes refurbishing and extending a historic pier into the harbor and rehabilitating the historic Engine Room building facing Commercial Street. This development project aims to boost local tourism and the Provincetown economy by providing new accommodations, dining, and recreation options for visitors. "From the outset, our vision for The Pier Hotel was guided by a deep respect for Provincetown's maritime heritage, artistic legacy, vibrant community, natural beauty, and incredible coastal resources," according to a website for The Pier Hotel project.
