By Stella OduemeThe Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) has assured of its readiness to revitalize the sugar value chain, expand sugar cane production and reduce the cost of importation as well as create jobs.
The Minister made this known during a courtesy visit by the delegation from Niger Foods Security Systems and Logistics Company Ltd, led by its Executive Chairman, Mr. Sammy Adigun, at the Ministry’s Conference room in Abuja.
He revealed that the Ministry would work closely with the National Sugar Development Council and critical stakeholders to unlock the potential in the sugar value chains.
This initiative is expected to provide significant employment opportunities and strengthen Nigeria’s agro-industrial value chain’’.
Niger Foods Security systems and logistics Company Ltd is a Public – Private Partnership ,Partly owned by the Niger State Government , with Focus on enhancing Agriculture and Promoting Food Security in the State.
