A fire outbreak at the girls’ hostel of the Zuarungu Nursing and Midwifery Training College on Monday, September 29, caused significant damage to student property. According to a statement published on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Facebook page, firefighters received a distress call at 12:14 pm regarding the incident. “Five rooms and students’ belongings were lost, but six others were salvaged, limiting the damage,” the statement noted. The Regional Fire Commander, Assistant Chief Fire Officer II Sagoe, visited the scene to assess the damage and offered assurances to school authorities.
