A 45-year-old labourer was killed and three others were severely injured when a tower crane allegedly collapsed on them while working at a steel plant in Surat city’s Hazira industrial area on Monday, said police.
The incident took place at a construction site inside the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s (AM/NS India’s) steel production facility, said the police.
Story continues below this adThe condition of the injured labourers is reported to be stable, said the police while quoting the doctors attending them.
Hazira Police Inspector V L Parmar said, “A worker died and three others have been injured during the incident.
Later in the day, two labourers were discharged after primary treatment even as Mohammed Shehzad is still undergoing treatment at the private hospital”.
