The leaders of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held discussions in Cairo on Monday to address the situation in the war-torn Gaza Strip. They emphasized the need to support US President Donald Trump’s plan to resolve the conflict in the region, News.Az reports citing foreign media. Both leaders welcomed Trump’s proposal to halt the Israeli war in the enclave, the statement said. The plan calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the release of all Israeli captives within 48 hours. The Israeli army has killed over 66,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023.
