SMITHFIELD – At its September 16 meeting, the Smithfield Town Council approved several appointments to town boards and committees, including the Planning Board, Appearance Commission, Historic Preservation Committee, and Recreation Advisory Committee. The Council appointed Jaime Beasley, Nariman Jeff Jaminia, and Luke Stancil to fill the open positions. Historic Preservation Commission:There were three open seats on the Historic Preservation Commission but only two applicants. The Council reappointed Elizabeth Temple for a second term and appointed Emma K. Creech for her first term. Recreation Advisory Committee:Marcela Buccafusco was appointed to her first term on the Recreation Advisory Committee.
