Broadway audiences have been waiting for Keanu Reeves to tread the boards for as long as Vladimir and Estragon have been waiting for Godot. At long last, the John Wick star has joined the parade of movie stars coming to the beating heart of New York’s theater scene. And Reeves is making his Broadway debut alongside an old friend — Alex Winter, a former childhood theater star who went on to play the Bill S. Preston, Esq., to his pal’s Ted “Theodore” Logan in three time-tripping Bill & Ted movies. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the new Waiting for Godot enjoyed its opening night on Sept. 28, kicking off a limited run that ends in January. “[Reeves] and Winter are limning their decades-old friendship, good times and bad, and melding it with one of the greatest 20th Century modern drama duos ever created,” Evans concludes.
