The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Nigeria @ 65: All Hands On Deck For A Greater Nation’.
Sixty-five years after independence, out of the estimated 200 million Nigerians, 63 per cent are said to be facing multidimensional poverty.
That is approximately 133 million Nigerians who are experiencing deprivations in health, education, and living standards.
Poverty is also said to be more concentrated in the North, particularly the North- west and North East regions.
Here in Nigeria, we have been battling with a poor leadership recruitment process that has left the nation underdeveloped.
