Glasper has won five Grammys, and an Emmy for his wide-ranging Black Radio project, which celebrates the connections between jazz, soul, hip hop and popular song. The month will include guest singers like Bilal and Emily King, and you can often find his fellow jazz musicians or rappers stopping by. But you can also hear Glasper playing things straight from the Great American Songbook. Robert Glasper begins his seventh annual Robtober residency Oct. 1  at the Blue Note.
