The steamboat Natchez will be passing through Natchez around midday, Monday, regaling her namesake city with a Calliope concert played by the son of her builder and director of marine operations, Matt Dow.
The steamboat Natchez is said to be the last authentic Steamboat on the Mississippi River, according to its owner, the New Orleans Steamboat Company.
At one time, the steamer was a staple of the Mississippi River City of Natchez in the 1800s, with a sound that used to garner excitement for her arrival.
