Alibaba leads cloud service market in China in Q1

In the first quarter, China’s cloud service spending rose by 20% year-over-year to $9.2 billion, according to the latest data from market research firm Canalys.
The market continues to be dominated by the three giants—Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, and Tencent Cloud—which collectively grew 22% year-over-year and held 72% of the total market share.
Alibaba Cloud led with a 37% market share, followed by Huawei Cloud at 19% and Tencent Cloud at 16%.
Price cuts by major vendors and increased AI application investments boosted cloud adoption, the report analyzed.
Additionally, both Huawei and Tencent introduced AI-focused partner programs to enhance market differentiation and foster AI adoption.
