Beijing News on state-owned channel Beijing TV, revealed that Xiaomi has taped out China’s first smartphone system-on-chip (SoC) using the 3nm process.
Explaining the expected price hike of Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phones, Wang Teng, deputy general manager of Xiaomi China’s marketing department, cited the adoption of the 3nm chips in a comment on Weibo, China’s ubiquitous social media platform.
Yesterday at the 2024 Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, Qualcomm announced the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
The Xiaomi 15 series will be launched at the end of this month, said the company.
