In 2024, smartphone shipments in mainland China reached 285 million units, a year-on-year growth of 4%, according to market analyst firm Canalys.
Vivo led the annual market with a 17% share and shipments of 49.3 million units, while Huawei ranked second with a 16% share and 46 million units shipped.
“Looking ahead to 2025, Canalys predicts smartphone shipments in China will exceed 290 million units,” commented Lucas Zhong, a research analyst at Canalys.
In January, the Chinese government announced a nationwide smartphone subsidy policy, prompting manufacturers to prepare their channels and supply chains for this year’s market growth, Zhang added.
