ByteDance officially launched the Chinese version of Trae, China’s first AI-native integrated development environment (AI IDE), on March 3, according to Chinese media outlet Yicai. The platform is powered by Doubao-1.5-Pro and allows users to switch between DeepSeek’s R1 and V3 models. Previously released overseas with GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Trae offers similar functionality in China. Optimized for the Chinese development ecosystem, Trae will soon support custom model integration. It is now available for macOS (10.15 and above) and Windows (10, 11), with a Linux version in development.
