Richard L. "Rick" Baker, 81, of Logansport, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Woodbridge Health Campus of Logansport. Born Jan. 11, 1944, in Logansport, to the late Donald Baker and Evelyn (Wilson) Hartoin. Rick retired from Verizon as a cable splicer after 35 years of service. He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and was a member of Howard County Vietnam Association, American Legion Post #91 of Monticello, V.F.W. Post #3790 of Logansport and Am Vets Post #82621 of Logansport. Survivors include two daughters, Randie (Troy) Veach and Stephanie (Larry) Lovings; one son, James R. Baker; three brothers, Terry (Monica) Baker, Larry (Debbie) Baker, Don (Sue) Baker; sister, Carolyn Sue Smith; six grandchildren, Kayla, Megan, Dakota, Dawn, Tylor and Larry; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by one grandchild, Nicholas Lovings. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, in the Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Zimmerman officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 1 - 4 p.m., in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
