Tencent, the Chinese tech giant, reported a net profit of RMB 47.82 billion ($6.6 billion) in the first quarter of 2025, up 14% year-over-year, as the company saw early gains from its AI initiatives.
Total revenue rose 13% to RMB 180.02 billion ($24.98 billion), with gross profit up 20% to RMB 100.49 billion ($13.94 billion).
Operating profit grew 10%, while quarterly net income attributable to shareholders increased 17% to RMB 49.73 billion ($6.9 billion).
Value-added services revenue rose 17%.
International gaming revenue climbed 23%, while social network revenue increased 7%, supported by virtual items, music subscriptions, and mini-game platform fees.
