Stephen Phillip Perdue, 78, of Logansport, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, in his residence. Born Aug. 2, 1947, in Rochester, Indiana, to the late Henry Owen & Glenna G. (Altice) Perdue. On April 28, 1980, in Logansport, he married Hazel Jane Powell, who preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2020. Stephen retired from Tyson Foods as a maintenance man. He was a member of Rochester Eagles Lodge, and enjoyed watching Cubs baseball and Bears football, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Tracey (Shane) Layer, Winamac, Indiana, Wendy (Lonny) Mongosa, Denver, Indiana; two sons, Jason R. Perdue, Logansport, Indiana, David (Angela) Hawkins, Knoxville, Tennessee; two sisters, Linda Mollencupp, North Manchester, Indiana, Glenda (Jerry) Flory, Tippecanoe, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, in the Gundrum Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Rochester I.O.O.F Cemetery in Rochester, Indiana. A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the Gundrum Funeral Home.
