Umeng, the Chinese mobile app data analytics provider, announced Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, had completed acquisition of it three days ago. It still didn’t disclose the price in the press release, but multiple sources, including Umeng staff, told us it’s $80 million. Since the launch of the first app data analytics service in August 2010, Umeng platform now has 180,000 apps and 60,000 developers. Over 60% of developers in China have adopted more than two of Umeng services, Linda Jiang, VP of Umeng, told TechNode at TechCrunch Shanghai event. Recently Umeng added mobile game analytics service, social plugins and push notification plugin, aiming to provide one-stop developer services.
