After four days of unpredictable weather at the Melges 24 World Championship 2025 in Trieste, Italy, the competition concluded with strong Bora winds allowing for the completion of four races on the final day. The overall champion, Nefeli, helmed by Peter Karrie, secured victory through consistent performance and strategic brilliance, particularly in the final race. Nefeli finished ahead of the Dark Energy team, led by Laura Grondin, who secured second place by just three points. The team faced challenges earlier in the series, including a collision with another boat, but rallied to achieve a commendable finish. Looking forward, the next Melges 24 World Championship is set to take place at the Little Traverse Yacht Club in Michigan, USA, from September 19-26, 2026.
