South Sudanese fighter James Majok Gau was crowned the champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Muay Thai belt in Africa, following a thrilling showdown in Juba on Saturday. Majok, who already boasts two championships, the World Muay Thai Association Championship Belt and the World Muay Thai Organization Championship Belt, defeated Tanzanian Emmanuel Shija to clinch another international title. Shija is Tanzania’s Muay Thai Champion. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Puro Okelo Obob, President of South Sudan Kickboxing Federation (SSKF), said the victory was a win for the country. Established in 2004, WBC Muay Thai is an international organization that promotes and sanctions Muay Thai competitions worldwide.
