NewsBy Miona MadsenMossburn Distillers’ Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye has launched a cask strength version of its Sound of Sleat single malt. The batch strength is the sixth expression in the distillery’s Legacy Series. The newest offering from Torabhaig enhances the smoky, maritime character of Sound of Sleat, raising the ABV from 46% to 60.2%. Named after the narrow stretch of sea that separates Skye from the mainland, Sound of Sleat Batch Strength continues the Legacy Series tradition of honouring place and provenance. Sound of Sleat Batch Strength delivers exactly that – big and elegant with more spiciness and a lovely waxy mouthfeel that showcases a new side to our Sound of Sleat whisky.”The release is limited to 15,000 bottles worldwide, with a recommended retail price of £75 (US$100).
