Eighty-three percent of Californians say the legislature should act to stop lawsuit abuse and eliminate what they call the “hidden tax” on families.
Californians understand that lawsuit abuse is not only a legal issue.
Lawsuit abuse does not explain all of it, but it does compound it.
Here in Los Angeles, where lawsuit abuse is rampant, businesses and taxpayers still face an environment that discourages growth and drives up costs.
Combined with runaway legal costs, it is no surprise that California continues to lose jobs and headquarters to states like Texas and Arizona that have enacted common-sense legal reforms.
