The Czech Interior Ministry is preparing to recruit dozens of experts and set up a training center in connection with the EU Migration Pact will come into force in June 2026. A significant part of the expenditures is to be covered by EU funds and the ministry has already submitted a cost plan to Brussels. More border police would cost an estimated 12 million crowns annually, while additional healthcare staff would amount to 48 million crowns. The changes stemming from the Migration Pact have already been transposed into Czech legislation. Despite this, the opposition parties claim that if they get to form the next government they will reject the pact.
