Bhubaneswar: The Odisha cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi approved four proposals from three departments in its 27th meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Monday. Similarly, the Cabinet also cleared the proposal to set up model schools in every gram panchayat under the Godabarisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (GAV) scheme. In its first phase (2025-26 to 2027-28), 2,200 model schools will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 12,000 crore. While the estimated cost per school is approximately Rs 5 crore, the actual expenditure will be determined based on a Detailed Project Report (DPR). “The Godabarisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (GAV) scheme is envisioned as a transformative step towards creating an inclusive and quality education ecosystem in Odisha.
