The Mobius Foundation convened a dialogue on the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on Climate Change at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Opening the session, Justice Mr. Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal, underscored the judiciary's role in bridging national responsibility with global accountability. Their discussions touched on the enforceability of international climate obligations, the recognition of climate change as a human rights issue, and the need to align global legal frameworks with national policies. “The world today faces an existential challenge — climate change. The ICJ's advisory opinion, while non-binding, is expected to influence the evolution of international law and national policymaking on climate change.
