It is clear from the continuing carnage that a Highway Safety Unit must be established on the Linden Soesdyke Highway immediatelyDear Editor,I have noted with great concern the continuing carnage on the roads of Guyana.
Whilst the evidence shows that this situation exists countrywide, it is clear that the Linden Soesdyke Highway has become a death trap and therefore should be given urgent attention.
As a former Traffic Officer (Traffic Chief), I would like to make a suggestion with regards to the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
The Guyana Police Force should immediately establish a “Highway Safety Unit”.
This unit must be based on the highway and be equipped with sufficient resources, manpower, vehicles, safety equipment, etc.
