Southern Water tenders £84m pipeline

Construction News
Southern Water has launched procurement for a £84m pipeline project between Andover and Winchester to boost drought resilience and protect chalk streams.
Southern Water Services Limited has started the search for a principal contractor to design and build the Andover Link Main (ALM), a 25km pipeline project linking Andover and Winchester.
The works aim to improve drought resilience for the Andover Water Resource Zone, which is not currently connected to wider infrastructure.
Southern Water intends to appoint a single tier one contractor, who will subcontract specialist elements.
The ALM project supports legal obligations under Section 20 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and follows a public inquiry into environmental impacts of abstraction.
