A procurement process has been announced for a £384m highways framework covering trunk roads across South Wales. The South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA), hosted by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, will procure the four-year deal, which is due to begin in April 2027. Carmarthenshire County Council and Monmouthshire County Council will also act as contracting authorities. The tender is expected to be published in June 2026, the three councils announced last Friday (26 September). It covers the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, Central and Gwent Valleys, South West Wales, and Swansea regions.
