An entrepreneur who came in third in May’s crowded mayoral race, Altamirano will now serve as CEO of San Antonio-based Tech Bloc, officials with the organization said Tuesday. In an emailed statement, Altamirano promised to focus on job creation and preparing the local workforce for the future — two key issues he focused on during his mayoral run. “Tech Bloc envisions San Antonio as a national leader in the 21st-century economy, driving job growth, innovation and opportunity through strategic investment in people, place and industries of the future,” Altamirano said.
