Conor McGregor has withdrawn from the Presidential Election campaign. The 37-year-old made the announcement on social media, hours before he was due to make presentations to two local councils in Dublin and Kildare on Monday. He was due to address local councillors on Dublin City Council and Kildare County Council, in the hopes of getting their backing to appear on next month's ballot. So far, three candidates are confirmed to appear on the ballot paper for the Presidential election on the 24th of October. The deadline for voters to register ahead of the election is Tuesday 7 October.
