Kenya to Open National Parks for Free on World Tourism DayKenyans will be able to walk into national parks, reserves and sanctuaries without paying a shilling later this month, the government has announced.
Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano said entry fees would be waived on Saturday, 27 September, in celebration of United Nations World Tourism Day.
Kenya, home to more than 20 national parks and reserves, relies heavily on wildlife tourism.
“This is more than just free entry.
Kenyans planning to take part are advised to check the Kenya Wildlife Service website and social media pages for guidelines on free entry.
