Though born in Boston, Peña spent most of her life on the island, where she first discovered a love of performing through Broadway-style classes at the Key Biscayne Community Center. And so when she received a text from the Red Sox asking her availability the following Friday, she couldn’t believe it. It was a chance to merge two parts of her life—the Boston ties of her college years and the Key Biscayne community that shaped her. When she's not writing or reading, she snorkels at her favorite childhood beach on Key Biscayne and practices pottery in her at-home private studio.
