According to CBS News, U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb ruled that Cook’s initial firing in August seemingly violated her due process rights along with the Federal Reserve Act. President Trump argues that he had probable cause to request her termination after accusing Cook of listing two different homes as her place of residence during individual mortgage applications. The factors that are at play in Cook’s lawsuit and the Supreme Court hearing are whether or not the Federal Reserve will maintain their same level jurisdiction over employment decisions. The court hearing with the Supreme Court will take place on November 5th.
