Two nonprofit groups that contend natural gas presents a health hazard to residents who use the fuel in their homes have scheduled a series of presentations in Northeastern Oregon. Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and StopGas.org are sponsoring the free events. • Sept. 30, 2:30 p.m. Hermiston, Hermiston First United Methodist Church, 191 E Gladys Ave.Peter Fargo of Baker City, environment and energy program manager for Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, wrote in press release that because he was concerned about how natural gas could affect his family’s health, and methane’s role as a greenhouse gas, he replaced the gas stove in his kitchen with an electric model.
