The carnival, set to take place on Friday November 7, will see the route reversed to improve safety, manage crowd numbers, and meet updated regulations. From there, the parade will turn onto Beach Road, pass the Pirate Golf course and Beach Lawns, then continue along Marine Parade. It will turn onto Knightstone Road, move through South Parade, Waterloo Street, and the Boulevard, before finishing back at the Pelican Crossing near Tesco via Alfred Street. The decision to change the route follows consultation with the local authority, emergency services, and community groups. Carnival organisers are urging residents and visitors to help spread the word about the new route well ahead of parade night.
