Cumbria Police Rural Crime Team said they have spent multiple shifts patrolling north Cumbria, where they have seen a rise in these thefts. As well as this, officers have also been visiting victims of crime and their neighbours to carry out enquiries and provide crime prevention advice and equipment. The force has also been working with other colleagues in Cumbria and bordering forces to make arrests for the theft of agricultural machinery. They have also been helping to locate stolen property and return it to its rightful owner. The team has also been assisting with investigations for tool thefts involving offenders from Durham, as well as hare coursing, livestock worrying, and other wildlife offences.
